Verified 301 redirects & 404 fixing. Every redirect is checked end-to-end so it actually works — local, unlimited, no account, no ads.

== Description ==

**The only redirect manager that proves your redirects work.**

Every other redirect plugin saves your rule and hopes for the best. RedirectZen requests each redirect end-to-end — following it hop by hop to the final page — and shows you the result. Silently failing redirects are the #1 complaint against redirect plugins; with RedirectZen they simply can't hide.

Your dashboard centers on a **Redirect Health grade (A–F)** you can trust at a glance: how many redirects are verified working, which are fragile (chains, unexpected destinations), and which are failing outright.

= Everything important is free =

* **Unlimited 301 / 302 / 307 redirects** — no caps, no ads, no account
* **Redirect verification** — background checks prove each rule fires and lands on a working page
* **Loop protection** — loops are detected *before saving*, not after your site goes down
* **404 log with hit counts** — see exactly which dead URLs visitors are hitting, and how often
* **One-click 404 → redirect** — turn any logged 404 into a redirect right from the log
* **Automatic backups** — your rules are snapshotted before every import, bulk change and plugin update, with one-click restore
* **One-click importers** — Redirection, Quick Page/Post Redirect Plugin, WP 301 Redirects / Simple 301 Redirects, Safe Redirect Manager
* **Working CSV import & export** — free and unlimited
* **Clean table UI that shows targets** — source AND destination visible on every row
* **Auto-pruned logs** — retention windows and row caps mean the 404 log can never bloat your database
* **Clean uninstall** — removes every trace from your database by default

= Coming from Quick Page/Post Redirect Plugin? =

That plugin was closed by WordPress.org in 2026 for a security issue and no longer receives updates. RedirectZen imports all of its redirects — both the quick redirects list and per-page redirects — in one click, then verifies each one so you know the migration worked.

= RedirectZen Pro =

* **Regex & wildcard redirects** with backreferences
* **Auto-suggest** — fuzzy-matches 404s to your live content, so fixing a dead URL is one click
* **Scheduled re-verification** — every rule re-proven daily or weekly, forever
* **Email digest** — know the moment a redirect breaks, before your visitors do

Pro is a lifetime license: pay once, updates included, nothing to renew — with a 14-day money-back guarantee, no questions asked.

= Private by design =

RedirectZen runs entirely on your server. No cloud service, no account, no data leaves your site. Verification requests go from your server to your own URLs.

== Installation ==

1. Install and activate the plugin.
2. You land directly on the RedirectZen dashboard — add a redirect or import from your old plugin.
3. Verification runs automatically in the background; your Redirect Health grade appears within minutes.

== Frequently Asked Questions ==

= What does "verified" mean? =

RedirectZen requests each redirect's source URL against your live site and follows the redirect hop by hop. "Working" means it fired and landed on a real page (HTTP 200). "Fragile" means it works but through a chain or to an unexpected destination. "Failing" means visitors are hitting an error right now.

= Can a redirect rule break my admin or homepage? =

No. Admin and login URLs are refused as sources, the homepage can't be a source, and loops are detected before a rule is saved.

= Does it slow my site down? =

No. Matching is one indexed database lookup per request. Verification runs in small background batches with pauses between requests.

= What happens to the 404 log over time? =

It prunes itself: entries older than your retention window (30 days by default) are removed daily, and a hard row cap protects the database against bot floods.

= What happens when I uninstall? =

By default RedirectZen removes all of its tables, options and scheduled tasks. If you plan to reinstall, there's a setting to keep your data instead.
